In this day and age, there exist many flaws in our legal system. It is no secret that everyday there are crimes committed for which no suspect is ever charged. The detectives can't get a break, and the case goes cold and gets moved to a back file. Soon enough there are new cases to deal with, and the once hot case is gone cold and lost in the shuffle.

Months go by, sometimes years, and then one day a break comes and leads to the solving of another cold case. However, for the ten cold cases that are solved, there are a hundred more that remain unsolved. Some of this is due to a huge case file for cold cases.

The girl was known only as “Precious Doe”, because of a lack of identification means. In 2005, thanks mainly to the media attention this case was getting, including 4 airings about this case on Cod Case Files, on A&E, a tip led police to discovery the girl's identity as Erica Michelle Maria Green.
